His movements slowed, but he didn't stop. "I told you to run or to kill me. I do not want this anymore!" Black crept up over his shoulder and flowed down his arm. His fingers flexed and spikes leapt up from the ground, flailing around her. "Every night I wake up next to her corpse. And every morning, I am forced back into the hell of my mind. There is something in my body, Evie and I cannot stop it."

[Tetra]

Evie kept playing. "That's why I'm here! To help you stop it!! If you can't do it then I will!"She played still worried about the shadows. "Here I stand. Trying to help you. Because I love you. Your my best friend! Even if I'm pregnant and not as capable as I can be, I will still be here to help you!"

[Nobody]

"Gods, you're pregnant? Why are you here?" He shuddered in place. "Evie, I beg you to flee. Your song is helping me fight it but I...I have found my will lacking. Please, stop me now. Surely Ezra would not let you come alone? He would kill me before I could hurt you, the gods are not so cruel." He stepped towards her, tears flowing from his still pure eye.

[sunter]

"No, he wouldn't have let her come alone." Charlotte's voice carried through the air. She delivered a swift kick to his chest, making him stumble back. "Now who do you think-" her words faltered as she realized who it was. "Oh my- Alaric what happened to you?!"

[Tetra]

Evie kept playing a tear falling down her face, wishing she could stop this. "Alaric please... come back to us" she looked to Charlotte pleadingly, hopiing she had an idea

[sunter]

"Are you alright Evie?" Charlotte asked, not taking her attention of Alaroc. It looked like he had been through things nobody should have to endure. "Come on, you can fight this, whatever it is."

[Nobody]

"First Evie and now you too." He grabbed at his face as another of Evie's notes pierced the fog governing his actions. "I... I do not want to stay here!" He fell to his knees and started to wail, the black under his skin rippling back toward the mark on his back. Why do I know this song? It is like a familiar lullaby.

The mark receded fully and he sank to the ground.

[Tetra]

Evie stopped playing and put her bracelets back on, rushing to him. "Alaric!!" She dropped to her knees beside him, touching his back. "Alaric are you okay??"

[Nobody]

"No Evie, I am not well." He rolled towards her, eyes red. "I am sick. And I, gods I have done such awful things since my return. I do not want to go back to that room. I would sooner die. Corinthia, gods what have I done?" He fell into Evie's lap.

[sunter]

Charlotte put her hand on her chest, letting out a sigh of relief. As terrible as she felt, this could've gone a lot worse. "Alaric, what happened? Where is Corinthia?" She asked warily, though she feared for the answer.

[Tetra]

Evie pulled him into a hug. "While I cannot change the past..."She petb his head. "I can tell you, there's nothing that can be done. And the fact that you know that you have done it and feel the remorse, shows you are still human. And that, you will do everything on your power to not do it again. And I can help you. I promise I'll be there to help you." She made him look at her, her eyes burning fiercely. "I won't let you go again. I won't let this happen to you again. You're like family to me." A tear fell down her cheek. "Everyone misses you. And I'm sure everyone will help. Please don't beat yourself up any more than you are."

[Nobody]

"I killed her Evie. I awoke in a pool of her blood in the caverns under Libertatem. And every morning I lose control of myself, coming back to that room. I tore her apart. She was like my mother." He sobbed again, shame at his weakness burning through him.

[sunter]

Charlotte took an uneasy step forward. She searched for the words that just wouldn't come, and instead remained silent. Any gesture she thought of making seemed empty when out against what alaric was feeling. Instead, she remained silent, hoping for the wondeful rays of sunshine that Evie usually brought to the world.

[Tetra]

Evie made him look at her. "Shut up." She blinked away some tears, staying strong for his sake. "You didn't do that. It was way beyond your control, and you know that. Whatever the gods did, it simply was the wrong choice. And we have to help you get back on your feet. That's what friends are for Ali. We will always be here for you. I'm here, right now. I was able to help you stop now. What's to stop me from doing it again?"She smiled. "I'm so happy that your alive. I'm really really happy. Can you be happy to see us too? You didn't hurt us. We're perfectly okay. Which means that's is possible, to just be you again. Well just fight twice as hard. Together okay?"

[Nobody]

He nodded silently, fighting the emotions, and his desire to run. "I need you both to promise me that you will keep me from fleeing when the morning comes."
