A blot of shadow stood silhouetted against the gentle light of the city. It reached out to Evie, but grabbed its own arm to stop itself.

Evies eyes widened, scared, happy and disappointed. "Alaric?" She called to him. "We came for you..."She backed into a cliffside. "Are you okay?"am she smiled at him, trying to hide her fear.

"I don't think he's in any condition to answer," the Librarian said, eye on the former net. "Can't you see all those scars on him? Almost all of them are riddled with demon taint. And there's this... Cloud, I guess? Of...stuff, around him."

Alaric struck, his hand sinking into the stone next to Evie's head. His arm was crisscrossed with the silvery skin of fresh scar tissue, thicker around the wrist. His chest bore more than one kind; the same silver cuts, the raised patches of flayed skin, the pale smooth of burns, and the puckered flesh of stabs. His face was untouched, for some reason, and one of his eyes was almost solid black, the yellow iris in its center fixed on Evie with a look of hatred.
"Run, run now start running damn you go go GO!"

Evie looked at the scars. "No, I'll never leave my friend behind. Ever."she lightly touched the arm. "Oh Alaric...what have you been through....I...I'm so sorry."her eyes teared up a little. "Youve been through so much...I'm here now...like you've been for me." She gripped her bracelets in her free hand.

His arm shook and part of the wall above Evie started to shake lose. A boulder detached itself from the wall and fell toward her.

Evie quickly moved away forming a whistle out of her bracelet and blew hard, keeping Charlotte in mind as she did. Afterwards she immediately returned them to bracelets and put them back on. "Alaric...please. I know your in there!"She continued to plead, not wanting to hurt her friend more than he was. "Please let me take care of your wounds! We've all missed you so much." She took a cautious so closer.

Charlotte bolted awake. "The whistle?" She hadn't exactly been present for that training session, but the castle surely heard it. she went to the window and saw the shadow circling over her head. "Oh no." Without a moment to spare, she grabbed her bag and bolted out of the room. "Lead the way!"

Evie dodged again. " Alaric...ill never hurt you. You can't make me." She thought a moment and pulled her bracelets off again, summoning a violin. "I want to get through to my friend. And...I'm going yo do it the only way I know how!!" She began to play the song she had played when he first befriended her. Keeping moving as to try not to be stuck down, scared for her unborn child.
