"Well, we just are, where I come from. Your kind would probably call us monsters. And I'm a book because it is the most convenient way to store knowledge, not because I was born a book. Judging a book by its cover and all that. Nyahahaha."
It turned to Evie. A red light the same shade as it's eye's sclera poured out from it and ran up and down her. "Now you're something new to me. In that dreary frozen hell there were only humans. What are you called?"

It fell over, flopping open to a page filling rapidly with information about ghee, including a masterful sketch of Evie for reference. It struggled audibly too close itself.

"Librarians don't just take care of books, though that is in my self interest. They take care of knowledge! So I stored knowledge of your friend here away." It looked up at Evie again. "Evie wasn't it? Do all ghee dress like this, or is that a personal choice?" It opened it's eye wide and narrowed it again rapidly. After a second it was apparent it was attempting to flirt with her.
