He parried the thrust with ease, using the edge of the blade that was already positioned high enough to do so. He then moved in and grabbed the wrist as it flew away, flipping Sam onto his back.

"I had sumfink in my eye." He picked up his oddly light sword. "'sides, who'd fight you right mindedly?"

"Plenty of people. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to practice my magic. I suggest that you stand back."

Sam leaned against a fallen tree and started picking at his teeth.

An owl silently landed on the toppled tree that Adminius had slashed. Humans in the woods weren't such an oddity, but these two were interesting. An odd wind surrounded them. It let out a hoot, as if waiting for something interesting to happen.

''So shortly after he stabbed the bear, he finally realized it might not be a good idea to try and knife fight a bear drunk.'' Cultus finished. ''And ever since then, hes been completely sober''

Ezra, who was decidedly not sober at the moment, guffawed obnoxiously. "You are a funny man, Cultus." He took another drink, emptying the fifth in a series of impressively sized flagons.

Aoife said nothing as she sipped a cup of tea. She couldn't get her mind off of Adminius. She knew that she should have gone. She should have forced Alaric to take her. Though, and she would never admit it, watching a drunken Ezra and Cultus was quite amusing

Ezra reached into the leather satchel at his side. "That's it, time for booking." He pulled a leather journal out of it. The cover was stamped into the shape of a tree, knotwork framing the whole of it. He grabbed one of several branches out of the satchel and tapped a finger of his gloved hand to the end of it. It burst into flames, which he quickly extinguished, leaving a piece of charcoal he started scribbling with.

A shiver went down Charlottes spine. "I'm debating whther it was a good idea to leave Ezra and Cultus together." The thought was quickly pushed aside as a small village appeared on the horizon. "He's somewhere nearby."

The forest near the village seemed to have been burned down in a forest fire that the villagers had managed to put outZ

Alaric sighed. "Yes, this has the look of a novice mage. We are nearing his location. You did an excellent job, Lady Charlotte. Can you direct us any closer?"

Cultus, though not.... quite as drunk as Ezra, still nearly tipped out of his chair when he leaned over to look. ''Thats an interesting book. What do you record in it?''

"Whatever I feel like. Right now, a drunk bear to remember this story. 'Cuz I won't in the morning." He laughed drunkenly.

Charlotte barely heard him, rage filling her insides. "He did this?! That idiot!" She picked up the pace and galloped through the burned forest, stopping at a oddly clean patch of land. "This is where it started." She hopped off her horse and examined the area, stopping at a particularly clean cut stump, an owl mostly unscathed save for a burnt feather or two perched there. "He was here."
