"I appreciate the attention, but now... Isn't the time.

[Tetra]

Evie frowned. "Your hurt..." She looked over to Charlotte. "And if if goes south...I've got to get you two out of here..."

[sunter]

Charlotte didn't falter. She slashed a lot of the shadows and dodged others, her small frame and quick feet making her a nigh impossible target. She came within a couple feet of the woman, slashing upwards with the blade, putting as much force as she could into connecting with the shadowy blade she wielded.

The two blades clashed, and while the shadowy blade didn't cut straight through with the dagger, the woman could feel the other blade slowly giving way. "Give it up," she taunted, Caen continuing to glow intensely. "You'll all meet the same fate. All of your futile attempts up to now have been cute, but it's time to end this." Shadows stretched up and over, moving swiftly to strike Charlotte all over.

[Tetra]

Evie could tell Charlotte was having some trouble, and pulled or her ocarina. "I dunno how much this will help...but...everyone always told me that when I played...they felt stronger..." She began playing a very mysterious tune.

The shadows stopped just short of striking Charlotte, and the woman's face shifted. All of her force behind her sword halted as she listened to the song. The song seemed to have a great calming effect on her, almost stunning her.

Charlotte saw the chance and took it. She let go of Evie's tanto and opened her palm, revealing a glowing Jozu inscribed in her glove. She pressed it up against the woman's right shoulder, quickly knocker her to the ground. "Now let's see if I can pull out those memories." Without a second of hesitation, her other hand went to the woman's head, doing her best to force the vision she had seen minutes before back into her mind."remember who you are! What you stood for! Who you stood for!"

Evie felt the importance of what Charlotte was doing and she played a song about remembrance.

The instant the memories flashed to life in her eyes, shadows erupted from Caen, sending Charlotte flying off. She screamed and grabbed her head as shadows began to violently swirl around her. The shadows tried to wrap themselves around the woman, but something held them back. The screaming persisted for minutes as the woman seemed to fight an internal battle with the effects that the parasitic rune had had on her with the prolonged use.

[Tetra]

Evie continued to play , the song becoming more intense with the struggle.

Charlotte was tempted to continue laying in the snow, but there was one last thing that needed to be done. She jumped to her feet and pulled on the black book, opening it to a blank page. "Please let this work." She held it out towards the swirling shadows, summoning the darkest thoughts she could, urging them towards her.

Less than half of the shadows flowed towards the book, but it allowed the woman to make a visible comeback against the influence. The screams of pain continued for a few minutes yet, but eventuslly, there was a loud shattering sound as the shadows and light if Caen broke apart like glass and the woman fell silent.

Evie stopped playing putting her ocarina away, shifting her legs lightly under ezra who she was keeping close. "What....just happened..."

[Nobody]

Ezra watched on, silently, face pale with worry.

Charlotte watched as the wave of shadow flow into the book. "Just a little bit more." The shards dissipated, drifting towards her, but by bit. after the last of it had been absorbed, she slammed it shut and dropped to her knees, gasping for breath. "Is that all you've got Seth?" She mumbled.
