The question caught her off guard. "Antioch, your brother is-" she wanted to tell him she wasn't sure, but he was clearly worried about what he had done. She reached up and brushed her fingers over the claw marks on her mask. So much pain. He deserved to know that. Instead, she slipped her fingers under the mask and slid it off. Her pale eyes filled with sorrow, but she had a smile on her face. "That fight did a number on him, but he's fine. Seems strength runs in the family."

He closed his eyes. "That is well. Please. Do not tell him what became of me." He shuddered and the blood flowing out of him ceased.

She let out a sigh. "I don't know what the after life has in store for you, but you deserve to rest." She slipped the mask back on her face. "I'm going to need to get a new one." Charlotte took to her feet. She looked at her bloody gloves. "Enough power for one last spell." She held her hands over Antiochs body. "Be at rest in your home. Gods have mercy on him." Wind and snow swirled around his body and he slowly sank into the ground. In moments, there was not a sign he had been there, aside from a bare patch in the snow.

Sam scrambled out of the snow, sword raised. He looked about for the assailant. "Did I get him?! I wasn't looking."

"Yeah. You got him. Ran with his tail between his legs. Pretty amazing if you ask me. You really didn't see anything?"

He reached under his hat to scratch at his ear habitually. "Nope. And I definitely didn't hear nothing, neither." He kicked at the snow awkwardly. "But gods, imagine the story this would have made."

She crossed her arms. "A shame indeed." Rays of light began to shine on the horizon. "Morning finally. if we get moving now, we should make it back into town before sunset."

He flexed. "Lady, I may not look it but I am strong as an ox. An ox that can carry one guy." He pointed at the pile of unconscious men. "I count exactly one more than I can carry."

"Hmmm. That does pose a problem. Our horses should be close by. We'll just have to drag one of them let of the way."

"Are... Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean I know Adminius a little and he's a tough guy. But this one here is kinda wimpy looking." He nudged Alaric.

"That's why we're dragging Adminius. It's just a short distance." She couldn't help but embellish a little. "Besides, after all is said and done, I'm sure he would insist on Alaric's comfort. One of those chivalrous types."

Adminius groaned weakly. He gulped down some of the cold air for a moment before slowly sitting up. He looked at his left arm, feeling somewhat confused, before looking at Charlotte and Sam. "... I have my arm."

"Yeah, yeah you do. Why wouldn't you?" Sam shrugged Alaric up onto his shoulders.

"... Nothing. Dream." He stood and supported himself on Charlotte as his legs threatened to give away. "Oh Gods help me..."

Charlotte supported Adminius' weight. "How disappointing." She let out a sigh. "After this adventure of yours, you'll prbably need a couple days to recover. Let's get moving."
