Justitia pushed the onto the stairs and threw up a wall of fire before turning back to her brother. She brandished her swords and took a deep breath. "Indulge me one thing, Seth

Seth rolled his new fingers. The black fully flushed across his skin, vanishing. His hair has changed to a bright white. He rolled his neck and turned to her. "The first time we see each other in a few centuries and you ask a favor? Bold, sister."

"What was bold was you returning after you killed our sister," she spat back, fury engulfing her. "Forget it, I don't need to hear anything from you." She brandished the two blades, both engulfing themselves in flames. "Even if I have to die, you won't get away with just exile this time." With that, she stamped her foot into the ground, massive, glowing cracks rushing toward her brother. Once they reached him, flames and molten rock erupted from beneath him.

The runes Jozu and Ramm filled with black on Seth's skin. He pushed his palm to the ground, snapping the magic ties connecting the flame to Justitia. "Everything that has happened up until now has been carefully orchestrated. This boy and his powers were made for me, sculpted for most of his life."
He clenched his hand, shattering the ground. Rotting vines covered in thorns and poisonous blooms spread through the cracks, drinking in the flames. They spiked up towards Justitia.
"When I was sent there my temper was no better than yours, you know? My fury was like a ball of molten steel eating away at my mind. But with time I shaped that as well. I made it a blade, used it for a purpose. It gave me strength. And I made that world mine. I decided that I would make this one mine as well."

She immediately dived to the side, her rage growing with each passing second. "Then I was right about those old bastards! I knew I should have killed them!" She distinguished all flames in the chamber and flipped both swords once, taking a ready stance. "Let's see this vessel's real strength, then, brother." She sliced away the flowers and burned them to ash before charging him.

Seth walked towards her, a cold reflection to her heated anger. He raised a hand, and little shards of ice hovered in front of his palm.
"Do you know what's interesting about my magic, sister? I doubt you do, so let me explain. It behaves differently for everyone. I've never seen two people with exactly the same kind. It's chaotic. And when you combine this chaotic magic with your standard magic, the results are... Interesting."
Black swirls of smoke filled the ice, spreading like a stain from the center. He fired the first of the solid shards of shadow. One embedded itself a few feet away from Justitia.
It expanded in random directIons violently, sharp shards of ice growing out like lances. He rotated his fingers, the other three crystals floating in between them in mesmerizing patterns.

She merely cut away at each spike with quick swipes of her blades, her fury rapidly turning into cool malice. Never before had the Goddess felt such pure hatred as what was reflected in her eyes at that moment. She sneered and rushed Seth once more, cutting anything that appeared to block her path.
"Don't mess around so much brother," she taunted, the glare in her eyes so fierce, so dark that anyone who didn't know better might have believed her to have fallen to Seth. "You wouldn't want that precious vessel of yours hurt would you?"
She stopped just short of her brother, bring Caladbolg down, aimed straight at Seth's neck.

Seth laughed and threw one of the shards at the blade. It expanded as it hit, sealing the blade in place against the wall. The shadows ate away at the flames within the ice with relish.
"You seem to think of this as some lowly possession. I love how misguided your information is. This is more incarnative than possession. I'm here to stay."

"You will never stay," Justitia glared at her brother. "No matter what you try, we will meet it. No. I will meet it. I will personally see to your execution, and I will make sure that you suffer through every second."
She jumped back to the wall and brought Caladbolg's blade across the ice that engulfed it, cutting her personal sword free with ease. She spun them once more and waited for Seth to make a move.

He flexed the fingers holding the ice. The shards merged and extended bit by bit until he was holding a long staff, sharpened into blades at either end. Black shadows pulsed like a heartbeat inside it. He raised the staff up to his shoulder.
"I can't wait to cut you into little pieces. And I'm going to be careful about it, too. You won't die. That's too kind."

That one sentence was enough. The hatred that the Goddess had felt in the moments before meant nothing compared to what now completely clouded every thought in Justitia's mind. Fire and light swirled all around her, and the earth around her cracked and glowed. The two blades engulfed themselves in such pure fire and light that the swords below couldn't be seen.
"Too kind?" she said, her voice cold and shaky. "Any 'kindness' you show me will never hold up next to what I have planned for you! It is because of you that Aurora and my chosen are dead, and I wholly intend to return the favor!"

Seth waggled his finger and shook his head mockingly. "Be careful, now. This is a holy place, remember? Wouldn't want to hurt anything." He reached over to one of the strings and wrapped a finger around it. The wire went dark and snapped, flipping toward Justitia.

Justitia said nothing, and the string ignited and withered away as it neared her. She raised Caladbolg, which was ablaze with her wrathful fires. Her other, nameless blade was alight with the light within her that persisted, constantly reminding her that only Seth need suffer. She charged him once more, leaping to a spot just in front of him. Her wings extended and slammed into the opposite wall, the cracked rock shattering and forming a nice little crater. Without a single moment's hesitation, she dropped her nameless blade and abandoned all reservations. She brought the free palm forward and struck Seth dead in the center of his chest, flames erupting outward from her hand.

The flames washed over him, obscuring him from view. Soon he was engulfed in a blinding whirlwind of fire. The stones began to melt around him , and the arch of the ceiling cracked and shuddered. When the flames finally died out, Seth remained. An angry red burn blazed across his now bare chest. He looked down at her with a malicious glint in his inhuman eyes. "I thought I warned you about this place."
His hand shot out and clasped around her throat. He nodded to one side, and the icy crystals reformed and flew, crashing into six of the seven pillars supporting the caverns' roof. He smirked at her apologetically. "That hot temper of yours will be the death of you."
Seth threw his sister through the remaining pillar.

"Citizens of our blessed land! Hear us now!" The seven Councilors stood in front of the city square, the statues of the gods behind them. The whole of Libertatem's civil body stood before them.
High Councilor Gorman stood before them, eyes uplifted in seeming rapture. "I have been blessed, with a vision! Hear me now, and know that I speak the truth! I bring you grievous news. The ones that we know and have loved, and have worshiped all our lives, are liars! The seven gods as we knew them no longer are. They have not been, since long ago! Before there were seven, there was only One, and this One God knew all and made all. The seven we know rose up against him, and struck him down in their blasphemous fury, dooming all of the northern lands to an eternal blizzard in doing so! I know this is not as we have learned," he said, pleading with the crowds around him. "I am as wounded as any of you should be. I have devoted my life to the city of these false gods, and this betrayal has hurt me, deeply. But all is not lost, my friends! He has remade himself, and now rises to fight for us, and to liberate us from these deceitful heathens who stole his power!"
He knelt down and bowed his head. "O God, please, if you here me now, make yourself known to us. Reveal your power that we might sway the hearts of these brave souls, who have endured so for you."
At first nothing changed, and the crowd began to grow restless. Had their council gone mad? Surely this blasphemy would not go unpunished, would it? The five giant Executioners stood there in front of the council, silently. A man started to speak. "This is nonsense. What cou-"
He was interrupted by the cracking of stone and the rumble of the earth. The seven statues behind the councilors began to shake, and the ground supporting them all crumbled. The statues cracked apart and fell into the cavernous pit that had been the secret chamber of Antevorta. Seth emerged from the pit, Caladbolg in hand. Justitia lay below, buried beneath tons of rubble, alive but battered beyond belief.
Seth stood over Gorman and offered his hand. "You have prayed, and I answer."

Justitia's flames died as her rage turned to a horrible, horrible fear. She had mustered all that was left after sealing part of her power within the slender blade that she held in one feebly defiant hand, and it still hadn't been nearly enough. She grabbed at Seth's arm, trying to claw herself free, but he just threw her aside like a ragdoll. In her panic, Justitia managed to stab Caladbolg straight through her brother's shoulder, burying it up to the hilt. As she slammed into the final pillar, pain unlike any she'd felt before washed over her as the ceiling above began to crumble. Just before she blacked out, a calming coolness washed over her as her youngest sister picked her up and whisked her away from certain death.
