She ran a hand through her hair, realizing only then how long it had gotten. "I don't even know where to begin. After you were brought here, a lot of things happened. There was talk of war with Arviragus, claims that they tortured and abused you. That's just the beginning." She let her head fall. "The chaos is growing stronger. I don't think anybody can halt Seth'so return anymore."

She stood up and turned her back to him, plucking one of the many golden strings. It made a flat sound before going silent again. "I failed. Evie, Ezra, Aoife, you, the gods. Adminius. Gods Adminius. I should've done something."

She whirled on Alaric. "I don't know! Maybe she was. Maybe it was Caen taking hold again. I know so little about it! For all I know, those marked by Seth could be doomed to destroy everything they hold dear or die trying!" She barely finished speaking before dropping to her knees. Alaric was the first one she had told. Alexander, nor the council should have any idea of the Kings untimely death.
