"The Chamber of Echoes?" Aoife repeated, somewhat hesitant. "Might I ask what exactly it is?"

"Some things are best left to see yourself." Alaric smiled back up at them.

She shrugged. "He's hot a flare for the dramatic. This could go on for ages, but he's right. It's probably best to see for yourself." Charlotte slipped past him and walked down the steps.

She stood at the top and continued to just stared down into the darkness below. She trusted Alaric, he'd proven himself to be more than trustworthy on multiple occasions. But the ominous name just struck an odd chord with her. With a shake of her head, she decided that she was being unreasonable and descended the stairs.

Cultus watched the rest of of them walk down the staircase and sighed. ''Shit.'' He kicked the ground in frustration, winced when he hit the statue, and followed them down, glad that Alaric hadnt been there to see the new scuff on the statue. ''Assassins... caves... why not just throw in a few traps along the way? Then we could truly write an epic about this whole damn affair.'' He muttered as he struck a torch against a wall. It didnt help much.

After a few minutes of descent, the air began to change. It was less stuffy, and they could see without the aid of the torch. Alaric started grinning. He couldn't help it, here. A woman could be heard humming a few notes, and then scuffles of cloth on dirt.
They entered a large chamber carved from the same stone as the statues above it. A fresh air came in through the hole in the center of the ceiling, though where it went Alaric couldn't say. In the center of the ever present ray of golden light sat a robed woman with long braided platinum hair. All around her, and around the room, golden wires were suspended from the floor and ceiling, meeting the ground in a perfect circle around her. She looked up, bright blue eyes glittering. "Hello, Alaric! Are you back already? Did you make any friends?"

Aoife was surprised by everything around her, to say the least. What she had expected would be these crystals the glowed or something of the like. And while that would be a welcome sight, the one before her was certainly a treat, as Alaric had said it would be. The woman, however, was another story all her own. The woman was certainly a sight to see, considering where she seemed to live. And then there was the eyes. Aoife could swear that she saw some amount of jubilance or another emotion of the sort cross them as she turned and saw Alaric.

She came to stand by Alaric and looked at the woman once more before turning to him. "Alaric, who is this woman?"

Adminius stared out the carriage window at the passing stone structures of the outskirts of Livertatem. Caladbolg sat in his lap, wrapped up by the cloak that Adminius had worn out of the city. He felt bad for lying to Aoife about what he was doing, but he didn't want anyone stopping him or coming with him. He had to make sure that Aoife was safe, once and for all.

The girl's face was immediately sharpened in her mind. The eyes took her off guard and Charlotte took a step back, bumping into Ezra who was behind her. She composed herself and straightened up, crossing her arms.

"Oh shit. Is she the-" Ezra started.
"No, I'm not the chosen. I'm just very gifted. If anything, look to me as Alaric's mother."

Aoife said nothing. They could clearly see something that she couldn't, something gifted about the woman, but as she had no knowledge of what kind of magic she might be using, she kept her mouth shut.

"Well that explains Alaric." She brushed an off center hair off her mask. "Gifted doesn't quite cover it though, does it?"

Alaric blushed. "Adoptive."
She shrugged. "Most gifted in 200 years, apart from you."

"Flattering, really." She took a step forward. "But somebody as important as you... it seems like a risk for Alaric to bring us here. Care to enlighten us?"
