Alaric followed behind her, looking about like a dog that knew it had made a mess. "If the gods see me they are likely to kill me. Though if you managed to find me I cannot imagine Antevorta is unaware of my presence."
Ezra pulled Evie inside, glad to be holding her hand again.

As they entered the throne room, Adminius hurried them in and shut the door behind them. Aeronwen waited by the thrones, glaring at Alaric with pure hatred. As she did, however, she could feel Caen burning intensely on her arm. She turned to Adminius and whispered something before dismissing herself.
